The Cosmic Psychosare (almost) an Australian punk rock institution who formed in Spring Plains, Victoria in 1982, spearheaded by founding member and bass player Ross Knight. To date, the band have released 10 studio albums since their self-titled debut(1987) and theirinfluence has been global,with UK band The Prodigy samplingtheir musicon 1997’s ‘The Fat of the Land’ LPand Nirvana producer Butch Vigproclaiming them an influence on both Nirvana and the Seattle grunge scene of the1990’s.In 2009, Eddie Vedder ofPearl Jam spoke candidly of the effectthe band had onhim growing up in Seattle. The band’s repetitive lyrics, fuzzed out guitar and wah-wah bass sound has remained unchanged over their 30 plus year career andcontinues to win over newaudiences.A documentary by film maker Matt Weston, released in 2013, titled ‘Blokes You CanTrust’featured a whosewho of global indie tastemakers and music makersespousing the Cosmic Psycho’s legacy in Australian musical history. Thedocumentary hasgiventhe band new life andtheycurrentlyfind themselvesfielding touring and interview requests as far flung as Spain, Germany and CostaRica
The Sleights
The Sleights is a punk rock band hailing from Colorado Springs, Colorado. Formed in early 2014 the four piece has self-released five EPs, and LP and played many shows along the front range of Colorado, as well as 4 tours throughout the midwest and west coasts. Pulling from its strong punk rock and rock and roll roots, the band keeps the music short and simple, and the live shows fast and fun. The Sleights recorded their first LP in late 2018, which was released February of 2019. It was a split release between Rad Girlfriend Records and Swap Cabbage Records. A second record is planned and the band hopes to hit the studio early 2020.
